Meet Greg and Elizabeth Haas, our Co-Founders
After the death of Joseph Ubelhor on September 23, 1997, Joanne Haas & her son Greg desired to maintain the Grotto, the miles of Rosary trails, the Way of the Cross, the Ten Commandments, the lifesize Crucifix, the Agony in the Garden, the Annunciation Wall, the Nativity Cave, Visitation Falls, and Mercy Falls, in addition to other religious items that might be built.
After Joseph’s heirs divided up the 200 acre farm, they deeded off the 32 acres with most of the religious items. That parcel went under Joanne Haas’s ownership, and it was named God’s Country, LLC. In 2001, Greg, son of Joanne, & Elizabeth Haas led their family in founding a non-profit organization to promote First Saturday Devotions requested by Our Lady of Fatima. Thus began “St. Joseph’s Holy Family Inc.”
St. Joseph’s Holy Family Inc.
On Sept. 23, 2009, Greg Haas asked Dr. Mark Ginter to take over St. Joseph’s Holy Family, Inc. (SJHF), in order to share with the whole world the apostolate’s history, mission, and vision of renewing Catholic family life through the inspired and natural beauty of God’s Country.
Since May 2010, hundreds of pilgrims have journeyed to God’s Country and thousands have been blessed by the dream of Joseph Ubelhor.
