June 27 – Day Seven

Daily Scripture Reading (St. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 6:2-10)

Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is deluding himself. Each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast with regard to himself alone, and not with regard to someone else; for each will bear his own load.

One who is being instructed in the word should share all good things with his instructor. Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows, because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit. Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith.

Daily Psalm (107:39-43)

But he poured out contempt on princes,
made them wander trackless wastes,

Where they were diminished and brought low
through misery and cruel oppression.

While he released the poor man from affliction,
and increased their families like flocks.

The upright saw this and rejoiced;
all wickedness shut its mouth.

Whoever is wise will take note of these things,
and ponder the merciful deeds of the LORD.

Daily Prayer (Proper of Saints. November 18. [In the Dioceses of the United States] Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne, Virgin. Collect)

Almighty God, who filled the heart
of Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne
with charity and missionary zeal,
and gave her the desire
to make you known among all peoples

grant us to follow her way
and fill us with that same love and zeal
to extend your Kingdom to the ends of the earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, you Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
